PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine having a low communication load on a mail server. SOLUTION: For receiving electronic mails from a POP server 300, the facsimile machine 100 acquires ID codes respectively allotted to the mails from the POP server 300 and decides whether the mails are not yet read, based on the acquired ID codes. If impossible to acquire the ID, the facsimile machine 100 acquires header information of the mails from the POP server 300, decides whether the mails are not yet read, based on the acquired header information, and receives those mails decided to be not yet read.
