PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a life-cycle management system and life-cycle management method for a consumable part which make it possible to prevent the life-cycle management information from being deleted due to erasion by a user by mistake and manage without losing the life-cycle management information even in system failure. SOLUTION: Areas to record and manage the life-cycle information such as a life-cycle span, a running hour, a frequency of production and the like for each of the consumable parts (HDD 3, 4, a CD-ROM 5, a keyboard 7) are arranged on the HDD 3, 4 as a historical file 2. The life-cycle information is managed using the information, a management software to go off an alarm if the life-cycle span exceeds is provided to this system. This enables to appropriately manage the life-cycle span for the consumable parts requiring the life-cycle span management and prevent the system failure, and through recording and managing the life-cycle information with this management software and the HDD, continuously manage the life-cycle management information for the system failure.
