PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an initializing drive unit wherein initializing operation can be swiftly terminated after the application of power is started, without showing the unnatural movement of a pointer to a driver. SOLUTION: When power application is started, CPU 3 reads out the present position of the pointer recorded in RAM 3c based on the amount of revolution of a stepping motor 1 for driving the pointer, installed in an indicating instrument for vehicle. The CPU 3a causes the stepping motor 1 to revolve at high speed according to the difference between the present position of the pointer read out and a predetermined initial position of the pointer. After the completion of revolution according to the difference, the CPU 3a switches the revolution of the stepping motor 1 from high-speed revolution to low-speed revolution. In response to detection of contact between a piece 1d and a stopper 1e, the CPU 2a stops the revolution. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
