摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material which is good in an application surface shape, can obtain a high coloring density in high sensitivity while holding ground whiteness, is excellent in image preservation properties, has an ink-jet aptitude without causing defective coloring and image discoloration caused by an ink-jet ink, is good in thermal head matching properties during high speed printing, and reduces head abrasion. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal recording material having a thermal recording layer containing an electron donating colorless dye and an electron accepting compound which reacts with the dye for coloring on a support, the electron accepting compound is expressed by the formula: R<SP>1</SP>-Ph-SO<SB>2</SB>R<SP>2</SP>(wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a hydroxyl group or an alkyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is -Ph, -NH-Ph, -Ph-OR<SP>3</SP>, or -NH- CO-NH-Ph; and Ph is a phenyl group), at least the thermal recording layer is curtain-coated with a coating solution, a coating speed is 200-2,000 m/min, and the falling speed of a liquid film at a coating point is 1/40-1 of the coating speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
