PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interlocking device having a smaller size and a high processing speed. SOLUTION: The interlocking device 10 comprises a non-vital circuit 14 constructed by a programmable logic controller (PLC) 13 for performing non- vital processing not corresponding to the processing of determining preconditions for providing the interlocking operation of a signal security device in a train operating condition and a vital circuit 16 constructed by a mechanical relay for performing the vital processing of determining the preconditions for providing the interlocking operation of the signal security device in the train operating condition. In such constructions, it has a smaller size than a conventional relay interlocking device and a higher processing speed than a conventional electronic interlocking device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
