The invention relates to a gear-shifting and synchronizing device for transmissions, in particular for motor vehicle transmissions. Said device comprises at least one gearwheel (7, 7a), which is freely mounted on a transmission shaft and has a clutch member that is connected at least in fixed rotation to said gearwheel (7, 7a) and a synchronizing unit, which has a friction-ring body (5, 5a) that is connected in fixed rotation to the clutch member and/or the gearwheel (7, 7a). According to the invention, the clutch member has a clutch disk (8, 8a, 8b, 9) with an L- or U-shaped cross-section.
