PURPOSE: A keyboard is provided to save power by arranging piezoelectric and thermoelements to the key board so as to generate an electric power from the keyboard when a user strikes keys of the keyboard. CONSTITUTION: A printed circuit board(12) having a key contact(12a) is attached to the bottom surface of a keyboard housing(32), and a rubber pad(14) is attached onto the top surface of the keyboard housing. A movable rod(18) is arranged to be movable in a vertical direction through a guide(26a) of a support board(26) having both ends coupled to the inner side wall of the keyboard housing. A key cap(28) is coupled to the movable rod. A piezo-electric element(16) is arranged at an edge of a protrusion(14a) of the rubber pad, and a piezo-electric element(22) is coupled to the outer periphery of the movable rod. The lead line from both piezoelectric elements is connected to an end of a backflow prevention diode. The other end of the backflow prevention diode is connected to an end of a resistor, and the other end of the resistor is connected to an end of a voltage-current converter. The other end of the voltage-current converter is connected to a charging section so as to thereby charge the electric power generated from both piezo-electric elements.
