<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for determining an appropriate variation of linearization in order to apply an image being printed on a print system for a specified basic layer. <P>SOLUTION: In the system and method for determining parameters of an ink jet print system by selecting an appropriate variation of linearization in order to apply an image being printed on a print system for a specified basic layer, the variation is applicable with a gradual incremental amount and may have an incremental visual effect corresponding to a printed matter. For example, a user is allowed to determine a large number of parameters of a printer including correction of tone scale, determination of the upper limit value of ink, and removing quantity of unercolor. Furthermore, the user is allowed to specify an appropriate graphics and (or) an appropriate quantity of ink for the print quality of a text. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
