PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a combustion melting furnace with high combustion efficiency by avoiding flameproofing of a thermal decomposition carbon by means of a heat treatment in the combustion melting furnace and optimizing a thermal decomposition carbon feed-in position. SOLUTION: In this combustion melting furnace 1, when an interval in a vertical direction between a thermal decomposition carbon feed-in nozzle 3 and a secondary air nozzle 5 is taken as A, an inner diameter in the combustion melting furnace is taken as B, and a feed-in angle to a horizontal surface of the thermal decomposition carbon feed-in nozzle is taken asα, the thermal decomposition carbon feed-in nozzle 3 is disposed obliquely downward at a position of the interval A which is determined by A=(B/2) tanα,α=20 to 70 degrees. A thermal decomposition gas feed-in part 7 and a thermal decomposition carbon feed-in part 8 are separated from each other, and it is possible to prevent the thermal decomposition carbon from flameproofing by means of heat treatment caused by combustion of the thermal decomposition gas.
