PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an angle detecting device having a wide range in which the angle can be detected. SOLUTION: The angle detecting device is composed of a pair of differential electrodes 17, 18 which are symmetrically formed on one side of a substrate 16 and spaced at a distance from each other, a common electrode 19 which is mounted on the substrate 16 so as to be opposite to the differential electrodes 17, 18, a housing 20 which surrounds the electrodes 17-19 while adhering to one surface of the substrate 16, and dielectric liquid 21 with which the housing 20 is filled so that a free liquid level is formed therein. A plurality of inclination sensors 23, 24 detect the angle in response to a relative position of each differential electrode 17, 18 in relation to the liquid level of the dielectric liquid 21. These inclination sensors 23, 24 are mounted on the side surface of an object with an angle to the ground to be measured so that phases of the differential electrodes 17, 18 relative to the dielectric liquid 21 are different from each other. The range in which the angle can be detected is widened by sharing the angle detection range of the object using the inclination sensors 23, 24. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
