PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein a composite structure provided with a sound absorp tive plate is complicated in the structure, causes increase of cost, and requires auxiliary structures owing to adopted honeycomb structure or the like, hence, leaves problems, and when adopting metallic members, grasswool, asbestos, etc., environmental problems appear, and further, conventional wooden sound insulation and sound absorption walls have a low sound absorption coefficient. SOLUTION: A number of hexagonal compressive wall members provided with several holes radially bored in hexagonal compressive woodens 1 and hollows 3 opened orthogonal to the radial direction continuously communicating with the holes are formed. These many hexagonal compressive wall members are piled up so that the holes are arranged to specified sound source side in a road, a railway, or outdoors. Coupling members 7 are fitted in the connecting recess of the hexagonal compression wall members with respective holes. The sound absorption coefficient of the proposed wall member can be increased as compared with the conventional wooden sound insulation wall members. Hence, results can be expected in the phases of maintenance and improvement of nature and living environment, health maintenance and management, living environmental security, etc. In this way, sound preventive and sound absorptive walls which can be adopted in various fields can be provided.
