PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that maintains stable image quality without using a sensor that detects the amount of attached toner or a sensor that detects the amount of electrified toner.

SOLUTION: The device is provided with a controller that variably controls transfer voltage on the basis of information about the life of toner which forms a toner thin layer that is the furthest from a recording medium among color toner thin layers overlaid one on another on an image carrier.
