PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering controller that can detect fusion of a relay. SOLUTION: A first to a third terminal 13 to 15 of an electric motor 11 are connected to a first to a third switching circuit 16 to 18 respectively. A first relay RL11 is disposed between the first terminal 13 and the first switching circuit 16, and a second relay RL12 is disposed between the second terminal 14 and the second switching circuit. While a drive controlling means 21 provides control to connect a power source BATT and the electric motor 11 via the third switching circuit 18 and set the first relay RL11 off, a first voltage detecting circuit 19 detects a voltage on a side of the first relay RL11 connected to the first switching circuit 16. If the voltage detected by the first voltage detecting circuit 19 is not lower than a predetermined limit value, the electric power steering system is controlled to a functional stop.
