PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a status information system equipped in a vehicle, which lets only crew recognize a non-getting in/out gate without carelessly letting an outsider know of the opened condition, has a good burglaryproof performance and prevents more surely rain penetration into a vehicle cabin. SOLUTION: This system comprises a detector 11 which detects an on/off status of a non-getting in/out gate 4, a display unit 14 which displays an on/off status of the non-getting in/out gate 4, and a controller 12 which controls the drive of the display unit 14 based on the detection result by the detector 11 and the status of an ignition switch 13. When the ignition switch 13 is on and the non-getting in/out gate is open, the display unit 14 is driven by the first display mode, and when the ignition switch 13 becomes off in the same status, the display unit 14 is driven by the second display mode for the prescribed time which is different from the first display mode.
