The invention concerns a method for making a three-dimensional metal structure, characterized in that it consists in: performing longitudinal cuts (10) on a sheet metal strip (1) by passing it between two rollers (R, R') bearing annular cutters (C) whereof the blades are discontinuous and angularly offset from one roller to the other so as to form parallel rectilinear frame members (11) mutually linked, at regular intervals, by connecting straps (12, 13) and linking jambs (14), two adjacent frame members being provided with either U-shaped straps (12) for being linked with two similarly oriented jambs or S-shaped straps (13) for being linked with two oppositely oriented jambs, and the U-shaped straps being oriented in opposite direction from one frame member to the other; performing a transverse cross-cutting of the strip by cropping said frame members (11) and said straps along different abscissas (X, x, x'); displacing one precut frame member (11) out of two in an offset plane by vertically thrusting the frame members bearing the U-shaped straps (12), so as to bring, by pivoting the jambs (14), the ends (11a) of said frame members (11) in vertical alignment with the S-shaped straps (13); and drawing the strip (1) along a transverse direction. |
