PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a location measuring apparatus comprised of a rotating part and a fixed part, provided with a reflecting member at the rotating part, and capable of detecting and correcting a rattle in the rotating part. SOLUTION: The location measuring apparatus irradiates an object to be measured with measuring light and obtains distances, directions, and locations from reflected light. A light source emits the measuring light, and a light receiving part receives the reflected light. A projecting means direction-freely projects the measuring light and guides the reflected light to the light receiving part. An angle detecting means detects the direction of projection of the projecting means. The light source and the light receiving part are provided in such a way as to be fixed, and the light source emits the measuring light toward the projecting means.
