<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make color visibility adjustable for individual display units, for example for individual dots, in a color display realized by using a color filter. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter 16 comprises coloring films 26 consisting of a plurality of dots formed on a substrate 7a. At least one out of the coloring films 26 consisting of a plurality of the dots is formed by laminating a first film 28 and a second film 29 with mutually different color characteristics. Furthermore, the ratio of film thickness of the first film 28 to that of the second film 29 varies within the coloring film 26 of one dot. Also the coloring film 26 of the one dot can be formed by making the first film 28 and the second film be adjacent to each other and, at the same time, color characteristics of the first and the second films 28, 29 can be made to be different from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
