PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cis-jasmone having excellent perfume with high liking. SOLUTION: The 3-(3-hexenyl)-2-cyclopentenone is shown by the general formula (1) (wherein, the wavy line indicates a cis- and/or trans-form for the double bond). A minute amount of this compound is included in a refined cis- jasmone freed from impurities. Although the refined cis-jasmone freed from impurities has only a flat and slight-impact jasmine perfume, the cis-jasmone obtained by including this compound has a high liking and excellent perfume.
