PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film having heat resistance and excellent transparency. SOLUTION: The optical film is made from a polymer obtained by polymerizing 4,4-diacetyl-2,6-bis(methoxycarbonyl)-1,6-heptadiene or 4-acetyl-4- ethoxycarbonyl-2,6-bis(methoxycarbonyl)-1,6-heptadiene. Because the polymer has good moldability to films and gives a film having good transparency and a low phase difference, it is desirable for optical films. It is desirable that the polymer has a glass transition temperature of 120-250°C and a number- average molecular weight of 20,000-500,000. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
