PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover tape which is almost free from a change over time in the release strength of the cover tape to a carrier tape, even under high-temperature and high-humidity storage environments. SOLUTION: This cover tape has an overcoat layer composed of an acrylic resin formed on an adhesive layer comprising an ethylene-polyvinyl acetate copolymer. The preferable thickness of the overcoat layer is 5μm or less and the preferable glass transition temperature of the acrylic resin is 50°C or lower. In addition, the cover tape is constituted of an outermost layer of a biaxially oriented film, an intermediate layer, an adhesive layer and the overcoat layer.
