PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice making refrigeration unit dispensing with a drive for returning oil by preventing oil from flowing into an ice making device in any operation mode. SOLUTION: In this ice making refrigeration unit, a refrigeration cycle is formed with a compressor 1, a water heat exchanger 3, the ice making device 2, an air heat exchanger 5, a liquid separator 4, an expansion valve 6, selector valves 7 and 8, and pipes connecting them. The liquid separator 4 is provided in a suction side of the compressor, the liquid separator 4 and the ice making device 2 are connected to each other by a liquid return pipe 14, and the ice making operation is performed with a refrigerant outlet of the ice making device set to a saturated or wetted liquid state. A liquid trap 11 is provided in the lower part of the liquid separator 4, or on the way to the liquid return pipe, the lower part of the trap and the pipe 20 in the suction side of the compressor are connected by the oil return pipe 15, and the liquid trap 11 provided in the lower part of the liquid separator is preferably disposed with an umbrella 13 on the liquid return pipe 14.
