PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for moving a sheet transversely to the carrying direction which has a belt transmission device to drive a spindle, and economically and reliably move the sheet without error by improving a carrying roller disposed on the spindle so as to be engaged with the sheet. SOLUTION: The belt transmission device has a locking device equipped with at least two gears 1 and 2, the gears 1 and 2 have lock elements, the lock elements abut on each other when the gears 1 and 2 are rotated at the predetermined number of rotation based on the predetermined transmission ratio of the two gears 1 and 2, and the motion of the gears 1 and 2 is locked thereby.
