摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an iron-based rare earth raw alloy, which is used for mass-production of a permanent magnet that shows high coercive-force and high magnetization, though the quantity of contained rare earth elements is small, and that is superior in rectangularity of a demagnetization curve. <P>SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises a step of preparing the molten alloy having a composition formula of (Fe<SB>1-m</SB>T<SB>m</SB>)<SB>100-x-y-z-n</SB>(B<SB>1-p</SB>C<SB>p</SB>)<SB>x</SB>R<SB>y</SB>Ti<SB>z</SB>M<SB>n</SB>, wherein T is one or two of Co and Ni; R is one or more of Y and rare earth metals; M is one or more of Al, Si, V, Cr, Mn, Cu, Zn, Ga, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ag, Hf, Ta, W, Pt, Au, and Pb; and x, y, z, m, n, and p respectively satisfy 10<x&le;25 atom.%, 7&le;y<10 atom.%, 0.5&le;z&le;12 atom.%, 0&le;m&le;0.5, 0&le;n&le;10 atom.%, and 0&le;p&le;0.25; a step of supplying the molten alloy 3, onto a chute 5 of which the guide surface forms an angle of 1-80&deg; with respect to a horizontal direction, and a step of quenching the molten alloy with a cooling roller 7, to manufacture the quenched alloy containing an R<SB>2</SB>Fe<SB>14</SB>B type compound phase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
