PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve paper setting operability by removing a cassette from a device body for holding a middle plate at the lowest position automatically. SOLUTION: When the cassette is drawn, the middle plate is held at the lowest position by a spring for pressing the middle plate in the direction opposite to a sheet feeding pressure energizing direction. When the cassette is inserted, paper feeding pressure is generated by the abutting of the spring on the device body, and also presses the cassette in the insertion direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
