PURPOSE: A CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) server system inserted into an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) switching equipment is provided to insert a mini-SORBA(Shared Object Request Broker Architecture) into the ATM switching equipment and define an EMS(Element Management System) and an IDL(Interface Definition Language). CONSTITUTION: A CORBA server is inserted into an ATM switching equipment. An EMS(201) manages the ATM switching equipment through a CORBA interface(202). The CORBA server has a message receiving unit for receiving a corresponding CORBA method through an ORB(Object Request Broker) when the EMS(201) calls the CORBA method. The CORBA server has a message processing unit(204) for obtaining a corresponding value from parameters in the received CORBA method. If the obtained value is for get-operation, the message processing unit(204) reads a corresponding value from a database in a system, and packets a message to be transmitted to the EMS(201). If the obtained value is for set-operation, the message processing unit(204) transmits data received from the EMS(201) to a control system(207) of the ATM switching equipment, receives a response, and packets a message to be transmitted to the EMS(201). The CORBA server has a message transmitting unit(206) for mounting the packeted message on the CORBA method defined in an IDL, and transmits the CORBA method to the EMS(201).
