PURPOSE: A demodulating device of a base station for a W-CDMA system and a method therefor are provided to divide many channels or fingers to process the divided channels or the fingers in one device, and to manage resources in one pool type, then to dynamically assign resources only necessary for a service, thereby efficiently managing the limited resources. CONSTITUTION: A chip operator(10) despreads signals received through many antennas per sector. A symbol operator(20) estimates a channel by selectively using symbols of control channels and data channels from the despread signals, and couples signals incoming through multiple paths. A frame operation device(30) binds the coupled signals in frame units, and performs TFCI(Transport Format Combination Indicator) decoding, FBI(Feedback Information) decoding, frame synchronization estimating, signal to noise ratio estimating, post coupling, and secondary deinterleaving processes. A memory device(40) stores outputs of the chip operator(10), the symbol operator(20), and the frame operation device(30). A memory device controller(50) controls input/output signals. A host interface(60) controls inputs/outputs between the operators(10,20), the frame operation device(30), and a host.
