A high-transverse-curvature tyre, in particular for mounting to the front wheel of a two-wheeled vehicle, in which the belt structure comprises at least one layer of inextensible cords at a substantially zero angle relative to the equatorial plane of the tyre and at least one underlying layer comprising reinforcing elements in a crossed direction with respect to said equatorial plane. The zero-degree cords are preferably metallic, of the high-elongation type, made of high-carbon steel. The distribution thickness of said cords increases in a continuous manner from the belt centre to the belt extremities so that the product of the mass of cord coils disposed in a portion of given unitary value by the square of the distance between the centre of said portion and the rotation axis of the tyre has a substantially constant value over the whole axial extension of the belt. <IMAGE>
|
