VIDEO SUMMARIZING METHOD THROUGH HIERARCHICAL SHOT CLUSTERING HAVING TIME LIMIT BOUNDARY VALUE USING SUMMARY TIME

PURPOSE: A video summarizing method through hierarchical shot clustering having a time limit boundary value using summary time is provided to perform optimized hierarchical shot clustering with respect to user environments. CONSTITUTION: A shot sequence is extracted from a video stream(101). Video summary time is inputted by a user(102). The number of video segments to be summarized is calculated(103). A time limit boundary value is computed(104). Segmentation using hierarchical shot clustering is performed(105). A summary list is formed through extraction of a key shot for each scene(106). The number of video segments is calculated in a manner that the video summary time is divided by an average length of video stream shots. The key shot is obtained by extracting the shot having the largest compatibility from the final cluster acquired from the clustering process.
