PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce gap between pixel electrodes by reducing capacitance by using an organic insulating film having a low dielectric constant, thereby improving an aperture ratio and removing speckles due to deviation of capacitance. CONSTITUTION: An insulating film(301) is formed on an insulating substrate. A semiconductor layer(301a) and data lines(302) are formed on the insulating film. A protective film(303) is deposited on the front surface of the data lines and the gate insulating film. Pixel electrodes(304) are formed on the protective film. An organic insulating film(320) which is a column spacer is formed on the data lines in the same thickness as a cell gap. A color filter layer(308) is formed on the column spacer. The organic insulating film symmetrically connects the data lines and the pixel electrodes. A liquid crystal layer(307) is formed between the insulating film and the color filter substrate.
