<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new apparatus for stabilizing the spinal column, especially for straightening and stabilizing the broken vertebra, which can attain better stabilization faster than a known apparatus with less surgical expenses. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for straightening and stabilizing the spinal column, especially for stabilizing the broken vertebra, is equipped with a supportable implant which can extend flexibly in response to an inner pressure. The supportable implant can be disposed within the broken vertebral body or between the adjacent vertebral bodies by compression. A pressure balloon which is disposed within the supportable implant and can respond to a pressure fluid is used for generating the inner pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
