PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable two hinges of a vehicle seat with hinge mechanisms to be completely relocked after releasing. SOLUTION: This vehicle seat has a backrest attached so as to be pivotally moved on the seat main body 1 by hinges 5, 6. Hinges 5, 6 are composed of two cheek plates 10, 12 which can be fixed by a slag 26 controlled by rotary cams 38 so as to bite with groups of fixed teeth 30 and are fixed so as to pivotally move. The cams 38 are mutually connected by a lost motion device 20 and teeth of a fixed group of one hinge 5 each other have teeth with cut-off tip ends to form a flat face. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
