METHOD FOR CONNECTING SUPERCONDUCTING MATERIALS USING SUPERCONDUCTING POWDER

PURPOSE: A method for connecting superconducting materials using superconducting powder is provided to mitigate a drop in threshold current due to connection of the superconducting materials. CONSTITUTION: Superconducting power(43) is put into a cup(41) having a screw thread(44) on its inner side. Filaments(22a,22b) of two superconducting materials(21a,21b) to be connected with each other are inserted into the cup through a bolt type stopper that closes the cup. The cup is combined with the stopper, and then only portion where both of the superconducting powder and the superconducting filaments exist is compressed. Accordingly, charging density of the superconducting powder is increased, and the filaments of the superconducting materials are connected to each other through the medium of the superconducting powder so that most of current flowing through one of the superconducting material flows to the other superconducting material.
