PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rapidly easily detecting microorganisms captured on a filtration film in high sensitivity by using an inexpensive apparatus. SOLUTION: This method for detecting the microorganisms on the filtration film comprises following steps: (1) a first step for bringing the microorganisms captured on the filtration film, or an extract of the microorganisms into contact with a bioluminescent reagent to cause bioluminescence on the filtration film; and (2) a second step for exposing a photographic film to the bioluminescence on the filtration film. Preferably, the second step is carried out by making the luminescent filtration film and the photographic film come closely into contact directly or through a transparent material. The bioluminescent reagent preferably contains luciferase, luciferin and magnesium ion, and the photographic film is preferably an instant film. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
