PURPOSE: A method for expanding a highway of a keyphone system and a system therefor are provided to generate a highway to be supplied to an expansion system from a main processor board of a master system, and to expand the highway of the keyphone system, thereby expanding system capacity. CONSTITUTION: The first KSU(Key Service Unit)(310) of a master system(300) comprises as follows. A PSU(Power Supply Unit)(311) supplies power. PPBs(Peripheral Boards)(312) are comprised. An MPB(Main Processor Board)(313) controls and monitors an entire system. An LMU(Link Module Unit)(314) interfaces with the second KSU(320). The fourth KSU(360) of an expansion system(350) includes a PSU(361) for supplying power, many PPBs(362), a system LMU(363) for setting a connection with the master system(300), and an LMU(364) for interfacing with the KSU. The MPB(313) is installed in the master system(300). The system LMU(363) is installed in an MPB slot position of the expansion system(350). A connection between the master system(300) and the expansion system(350) is set by connecting the MPB(313) and the system LMU(363) with a cable.
