PURPOSE: An apparatus for easily injecting slag depressant into converter to prevent overflow of slag from the converter when tapping molten steel from the converter after converter refining, and a method for preventing slag sloping are provided. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for injecting slag depressant into converter to prevent overflow of slag from the converter during converter tapping, the apparatus includes a frame means(30) rotationally attached to doghouse facility(12) of the converter(10); a lance means(50) which is supported to the inner side of the frame means(30) so that the lance means(50) is moved forward and backward without moving freely, and which uniformly injects the slag depressant(14) into the whole inner part of the furnace through a furnace mouth(10a) of the converter(10); and a slag depressant supply means(70) connected to the lance means(50) to supply the slag depressant(14), wherein the frame means(30) includes a fixed plate, a rectangular frame(36) and a supporting roll(40), the lance means(50) includes two rows of lance bodies(52) and connection part(54), and the slag depressant supply means(70) includes a storage tank(72), an inert gas supply pipe(72), and a supply line(76).
