PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for feeding a coating material which can always obtain stable coating finish in an industrial coating line even in a state where the spans of control of an air conditioning temperature and a surface temperature of an object to be coated are wide, without requiring a great deal of man-hour and troublesome stock control for a thinner-diluted coating material. SOLUTION: Two or more kinds of coating materials having the same coating color which have the same solid content after dilution and a different evaporation rate of a thinner used for dilution are continuously supplied while being mixed in the ratio corresponding to the surface temperature of the object to be coated and the temperature of a coating atmosphere. This method and apparatus cope with a change in the temperature of the coating atmosphere in addition to a change in the surface temperature of the material to be coated. The proper mixing ratio of the two or more kinds of the coating materials having the same coating color which have the different evaporation rate of the thinner for dilution, and the addition amount of these coating materials to the mixed coating material are determined from the surface temperature of the object to be coated and the residual amount of the mixed coating material.
