PURPOSE: A process for manufacturing liquid crystal cells for a liquid crystal display device is provided to detect failure at an early stage by applying voltage and inspecting an external appearance before cutting bonded substrates by cells, thereby improving the yield. CONSTITUTION: A substrate(110) is formed of a lower substrate(110a) and an upper substrate(110b). The lower substrate and the upper substrate have upper and lower corner cut areas(IVa,IVb) in the same direction to represent a proceeding direction of the substrate. The upper corner cut area exposes an inner edge of the lower substrate and the lower corner cut area exposes an outer edge of the upper substrate. First and second auxiliary inspecting terminals(120,126) are formed at the lower corner cut area. The first auxiliary inspecting terminal is formed of a gate terminal(116) and a first common terminal(118). The auxiliary inspecting terminal is formed of a data terminal(122) and a second common terminal(124).
