PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic toilet lid closer which saves energy by automatically closing the toilet lid even when the toilet lid is left unclosed to prevent thermal dissipation from a toilet seat. SOLUTION: In the apparatus which is housed in a box body 10 and automatically closes the toilet lid, and in the box body 10, a push bar 1 which is installed in a sheath part 3 with one end thereof fixed inside a back plate of the box body while being energized by a spring 2 with one end thereof fixed is loosely fitted into the sheath part 3 and an engaging recessed part 121 is made to encircle almost the intermediate outer circumference part of the push bar 1. The engaging recessed part 121 is detachably retained with a lever 5 actuated by a timer 7 and the push bar 1 protrudes from a hole part H bored in the front plate of the box body thereby automatically closing the toilet lid.
