<p>A laser-welded driveshaft 10 comprises a tube 13 and a yoke 31, 32 laser welded to the tube 13. The tube 13 has a driveshaft wall extending to an open end 23, and the yoke 31, 32 includes a tube-engaging pilot 36 which is disposed through the open end 23, before the yoke 31, 32 is laser-welded to the open end 23 of the tube 13.
