PURPOSE: A data processor management method and a system for the same are provided to manage a data processor by using an external memory with a file allotment table, not connecting to a personal computer or a network. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. A user determines whether the user can manage a data processor by using an external memory device, e.g., a compact flash memory, a memory stick or a smart media(10). If the user determines that he or she can manage the data processor by using the external memory device, management data used in managing the data processor is recorded in the attached external memory device(12). The user detaches the external memory device from the data processor(14). Then, the management data, recorded in the external memory, is read(16).
