PURPOSE: A method for reducing call time using a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) is provided to immediately make a phone call to a dialed phone number if the dialed phone number is a previously dialed one upon checking. CONSTITUTION: When a hook switch of a phone is operated as a caller lifts up a handset to make a phone call, a controller of a gateway is in a standby state until a dialed number is inputted(S1) and judges whether a special character is inputted(S2). If a special character is selected, the controller judges whether a number has been inputted(S8), attempts a call connection to the inputted number(S9), and connects a channel(S10). If the special character is not selected, the controller judges whether a phone number data has been inputted for a predetermined time as counted(S3). If a phone number has been inputted, the controller temporarily stores it in a memory(S5). The controller compares the inputted phone number with phone numbers which have been inputted up to now(S6), and judges whether there is the same phone number(S7). If there is the same phone number, a call connection is attempted to the inputted number(S9) and a channel is connected for a call(S10). The controller judges whether the current phone number exists in a history(S11). If the current phone number is a new one, the controller adds it in the history(S12).
