PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent chromaticity from shifting which is displayed on a liquid crystal panel by a format of color television system in an input video signal. SOLUTION: This chromaticity correcting equipment 20 is provided with an E<SP>2</SP>PROM 7 for outputting matrix variables corresponding to a format deciding signal outputted from a format deciding circuit 6 for deciding a format of an input video signal, and an RGB→XYZ conversion circuit 2 for correcting each chrominance signal component corresponding to the format, by multiplying each chrominance signal component of R, G, B of the input video signal by the matrix variables.
