PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that prevents a nip width from changing due to elasticity characteristic with time without providing an electrical or mechanical device in order to control energizing force. SOLUTION: The fixing device A is provided with a heat roller 10 which has a heat generation source, and a pressure roller 20 which forms a nip by bringing its peripheral face into pressure contact with the heat roller 10. In the case the elastic layer 21 composing the pressure roller 20 has an elastic body change characteristic, in which the hardness of the elastic layer 21 changes with time, a spring 32 which generates urging force for pressing the pressure roller 20 to the heat roller 10 has an urging force change characteristic, in which the urging force changes with time according the elastic body change characteristic.
