<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance durability of a varnish-coated wire having a non-round cross section. <P>SOLUTION: This varnish-coated wire 1 is composed of a metal wire 2 and a varnish coat 3 surrounding the metal wire, and has a cross section having two axes different in length and vertical to each other for particularly manufacturing an electric coil. The varnish coat 3 is located on the side belonging to the longer cross-sectional axis and has a thickness less than the side belonging to the shorter cross-sectional axis. The wire has a cross section having an axis ratio of 3:1 at the maximum. In a manufacturing method of the varnish- coated wire composed of the metal wire 1 and the varnish coat 3 including an insulation characteristic and a baked varnish characteristic and surrounding the metal wire, and having the cross section having two axes different in length and vertical to each other, a varnish-coated wire having a round cross section is so pressed as to have a cross section having an axis ratio of 3:1 at the maximum by a rolling method, and the wire may have an elliptical cross section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
