PURPOSE: A defrosting heater assembly of a refrigerator is provided to perform defrosting most effectively with optimum electric power. CONSTITUTION: A defrosting heater assembly of a refrigerator has a hot wire(56) wound around a core(54), as a heater inserted in heater pipes repeatedly arranged to the upper and lower part of an evaporator like a refrigerant pipe. The wound pitches of the hot wire are different. The pitch of the hot wire in the lower part of the evaporator is narrow and the pitch of the hot wire in the upper part of the evaporator is wide. The power consumption is optimized by effectively removing frost with efficient heating capacity.
