<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a frequency band on a CATV cable. <P>SOLUTION: The IP streaming system comprises a head end system 10 having a navigation server 11, a distribution server 12 for distributing highly viewed contents as broadcast contents, and a management server 13 for retaining the frequency band information of the CATV cable for broadcasting the broadcast contents, and a CMTS 31 that is connected to the system 10 via a network 20 and accommodates a CATV cable 42 where user terminals (43, 44) are connected. The CMTS 31 has a cable interface 31a having a frequency band of the CATV cable for the broadcast contents. After the user terminal requests the frequency band information of the CATV cable for the broadcast contents to the management server 13 and acquires it, tuning is made to the frequency band of the acquired CATV cable, thus distributing the broadcast contents from the distribution server to the user terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
