PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module and optical communication system, capable of reducing frequency for collimation. SOLUTION: An optical communication system 500 comprises an optical fiber 510 and a plurality of surface emission lasers 20. The plurality of surface emission lasers 20 are arranged along an optical axis A10 of the optical fiber. If the difference between oscillation wavelengths of adjoining two surface emission lasers is assumed to beΔλ, the widths of reflection bands of the adjoining two surface emission lasers are less than 2Δλ.
