PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear transmission for a vehicle capable of readily achieving a shift pattern easily operated to a reverse range by a driver, and flexibly setting the change gear ratio of the reverse range and a low speed stage in an output reduction gear type gear transmission having all synchronous devices on an input shaft. SOLUTION: The gear transmission 1 for the vehicle has the input shaft 11 and an output shaft 12 disposed on the same shaft line, first and second counter shafts 21, 22, transmission gear trains 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, output gear train 37, and synchronous devices 70, 71, 73, 75. In the transmission, those synchronous devices 70, 71, 73, 75 are provided on the input shaft 11, and the device 70 is used only for the reverse range and disposed adjacently to the device 71 shared for first and second speed stages. Furthermore, first and second intermediate gear trains 38, 39 for conducting additional speed reduction to the reverse range, first and second speed stages are provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
