PURPOSE: A shelf of a refrigerator is provided to facilitate keeping of an article higher than the gap between shelves by installing a shelf opening and shutting plate and forming a communicating hole part. CONSTITUTION: A shelf of a refrigerator has a shelf opening and shutting plate(41) on a side of the tip of the shelf. The shelf opening and shutting plate is selectively assembled and detached. If the shelf opening and shutting plate is separated, an article with height higher than the gap between shelves is secured on a shelf(30') installed under the shelf, passing through the communicating hole part formed by separation of the shelf opening and shutting plate. A docking protrusion, docking groove(39), a support end(38), and a support protrusion are formed to one end portion of the shelf opening and shutting plate and one end portion of a shelf body plate(31) corresponding to one end portion of the shelf opening and shutting plate, to selectively assemble and detach the shelf opening and shutting plate. A shelf storage part(51) in which shelf opening and shutting plate is kept is disposed to a side wall of the inner space of a body(20). Thus, a relatively high article is easily kept on the shelf.
