INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium for performing high- density recording and reproducing which maintains favorable recording and reproducing characteristics and is excellent in the mass-productivity by using an interfacial layer having high thermal stability and a high sputtering rate.

SOLUTION: The recording medium has the interfacial layer 3 having the film thickness as ≥0.25 and ≤0.67 time as the total thickness of a first protective layer 2 and the interfacial layer and containing tantalum (Ta) and oxygen (O).
